To facilitate the achievement of the respective District Development Fund’s operational objectives, the Fund runs a Transport Plant and Equipment Department which:-
Provides heavy earth moving equipment, drilling rigs, tractors, heavy trucks, light vehicles, aircraft, boats and badges, and efficiently maintaining the same through the DDF Provincial and District workshops.
The DDF Transport Plant and Equipment division undertakes to keep all its Transport and Equipment in serviceable condition for either localized or national calls by carrying out routine maintenance through its Central, Provincial and District workshops. In order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of the above the DDF undertakes to:-
Attend to any form of breakdown of any machine within eight hours of receiving the breakdown;
Provide mobile workshop facilities at all workshops sufficiently equipped with basic tool kits for emergency repairs; and
Fly DDF mechanical staff to such places of work where motor transport could not timeously respond to stress signals.
The District Development Fund’s Transport Plant and Equipment Department also undertakes to provide similar services to other Government departments.
